Stag-Horn Sumac

Latin: Rhus typhina

The foilage of Sumac is quite distinct relative to the other trees in our area, and rare enough to make it very striking. When I first came across this tree, I assumed it was a non-native, imported for landscaping purposes.

Uses

Culinary

The tops can be harvested to make a lemon flavoured tea. This can only be done once a year.
