I was talking to my daughter, and realized that she is not aware of how scary the Soviet Union was to people. Having said that, they were SCARY, enslaving, evil totalitarians.... yet:

1987: Land a Cesna on the lawn of the Kremlin, and get a 14 month jail sentence and a stern look from the judge

2007: Wear the wrong watch and the USA sends you to a gulag.
