I'm not sure if I should be angry or impressed with The Wife.
I leave for my first work week in Halifax and before I even get to the city, she rolls down the basement stairs. In order to keep me from worrying, she waits for my call (to say I've safely arrived) before going to the hospital to get checked for broken bones. She did not tell me about the spill until I got back home at the end of the week.
My wife is one tough woman. Luckily no breaks.
Are doctors a little quick to prescribe pain killers?
Apparently she told the doctor, friends, and neighbors, not to share this information with me, not because she was being stoic or brave, but because my new job is the first break we've had in 2 years and she wasn't risking it over a couple of broken bones.
