I feel the discussion is important, and I didn't want to sideline the discussion with what would amount to ad hominen arguments. Having said that, I believe that if you write me off as a jerk, we can't have a meaningful discussion either.

Therefore, I open myself up to you on a private channel. If you still believe me to be an ass, you are welcome to challenge me here. If I am able to adequately defend myself, hopefully you will give me the benefit of your time in the main discussion.

EDIT: I too have biases that I are relevant but not conducive to the main discussion.

You seemed ultimately more concerned about one woman's opinion of you then the content of what you had read and the reality of what women go through. If you are truly concerned about educating yourself on this issue then start reading. Stop dismissing the stories as things that happen in scenarios that can be avoided and look up the statistics. If you don't believe me there are plenty of websites devoted to the topic. Rape, sexual harassment and delegating women as lesser than men doesn't happen in a bottle.

I am more aware of the statistics than you think. I have skin in the game (as the expression goes).
