We can't make gods of men for their promises.

I listen to this speech, by Kennedy, and I hear Obama's promise of greater transparency, as well as a call for greater military involvement in the world.

The Wife and I were discussing this a couple months ago. I'm suspicious that Kennedy was only a great president because he was killed before he did anything. His Vice President is considered one of the worst presidents in history, yet only implemented policies that were on Kennedy's agenda. Like all politicians, he merely deferred his less popular agendas to his later terms. His untimely death left those items to his replacement who ended up being vilified for implementing those policies.

Was Kennedy a good president only because he was a dead president?

Frankly, I read this (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25045277), and I can't help but hear a description of Obama.
