Are we still talking about cryonics? I just read a book from 1970s that points out that we should be actively doing cryonics in the next five years (so by the mid-80s at the latest). He was convinced we had been talking about it plenty long enough (based on historic precedence) and it should be fully normalized by the 90s.
Mind you, I'm currently reading the same author, but from the early 90s.... same predictions.
