The Wife and I have decided that renting an apartment may be the better way to go from now on (as opposed to owning).

Please feel free to try your own variables or create some new scenarios and see if renting or owning is the better financial option for you.

Attached is the spread sheet that I used to compare different scenarios of renting and owning. I have left it open for others to create their own scenarios and chat about the results.

Changed (I tend to think it's even higher), though really it has little impact. I'm kind of operating under the assumption that inflation increases rent, value of the house, and income at a comparable rate, to the point where its a wash.

Let me know if I'm way out to lunch with that assumption.
