The same thing goes for the Mills in this province! Our government subsidizes them too...We pay more for our electricity than these corporations as home owners so they can deforest our land and pollute environment ruining rivers, lakes etc...for what?

+Steven Baker  It's all in the name of "job creation". That ends up meaning donating free labour to the company for 5 years. In the end most of these schemes would have been more profitable (for the province) just to keep people on UI.

But you don't get your name in the papers for that.

So true...they do what's ethically and morally wrong in order to be popular among the voting populous!  They want to be voted in for the next term...they're more concerned with that than making the right decisions for the people and our environment..it always seems the right decisions take more than four years to show their full benefit, and politicians are not willing to take that gamble...so they chose the route that they think makes them popular. To be fair, people (the voting populous) don't see the big picture and are more interested in instant gratification. I think that's a part of the new generation of people. There is never a quick fix! There's too many variables to be considered! People don't get it! The politicians seem to pander to this..

The only thing I disagree with was "the new generation".
