I did work for this guy, until he laid me off, stating that he didn't have enough work to go around. In the end I had to sell my dream homestead and move to the city to find work. 

OK, it wasn't this guy, it was Barteaux farm in Annapolis Royal (just a little further up the valley). At the time, I pushed a little harder, and ended up working side-by-side with 6 Jamacian workers for a couple of weeks during the strawberry harvest. I was given piece work, to replace my hourly wage. It was a little embarassing when I was outpicking them and making 1.5 times my prior hourly wage.

I wasn't invited back for the blueberry harvest.
