Originally shared by Jan MorenIt's no fun sitting alone at home when you're doing some open-source project (or looking for work). You could go to a cafe, but the wifi is spotty, power plugs are infrequent, the coffee is so-so, and many places understandably don't want you to hog a table every day, all day long.
Co-working spaces to the rescue! Pay a flat daily or monthly fee and use it as much as you want. And now there's a new space next to Nagahoribashi station in Osaka that's modelled as a cafe, but with a twist: You get to make your own coffee yourself. There's a selection of freshly roasted beans, coffee mills, drip filters, pots, a French Press and so on, for you to freely use. Can bring your own beans too if you want.
It costs 1000 yen per day. A bit more than a few coffees at some chain, but you're encouraged to spend the entire day there, drink as much coffee as you want, and there's wifi, power plugs, copier, meeting rooms and so on for you to use while you work or study. Or become a monthly member (for about 12000 yen I believe) and you can use this space, along with an office-like space nearby, as much as you want.

I want it because I enjoy writing software, managing a restaurant/office space is not something that really appeals to me.
