Given there are only two urban hospitals in Nova Scotia where all surgery is performed. It's kind of significant that one of them is in this state.
I worked in that building just prior to this article coming out.
Let's be clear, this is the only place to receive care for many conditions in Nova Scotia, and
- the water is toxic
- patients complain of sleeping with rodents
the article indicates that these problems were first identified in the 80s (so 30 years ago)
The irony of health care regulators being overrun by rats is not lost ... if a rat infestation were discovered ... a nursing home or mental hospital
They consider it ironic because they would never accept rodents in their healthcare facilities.
