While attending an ethics workshop for my new position at a government owned company, a member of the executive and (previously) an elected government official, corrected a student during a case study.
The case study involved a bank officer giving an over-extended man a loan to pay a bribe because the man was the son of a respected member of the community.
Everyone in the class ranked The Banker as highly unethical.
We were corrected, stating that "relationship building" is just how things get done in small towns, and he was in a "position of authority" to decide such things anyway.
I think I may be failing the corporate entrance exam.
Feel free to tell anyone you want, but please keep me anonymous until I find a new job.
