I remember an all-ages punk show I was at (in my early 20s, a friend was the organizer), the music was a little loud for my taste, and pit was a little rough, and I needed a smoke. I got outside and there was a buddy of mine, sitting on the bumper of his car, drinking a beer from his trunk (public alcohol is illegal)... so I joined him.

At some point a couple of teen-agers came out and started explaining how they were going to "tear down" the system, "damn the man", etc. We (mostly) just listened, standing around like the picture above.

Suddenly, a cop car rolled around the corner, and the kids scattered. My buddy and I maintained the posture you see above. We nodded to the cops, they nodded back, and just rolled slowly on... barely acknowledging us.

When the kids came out of the bushes, my friend started to ask questions about what authorities they were going to defy. The looks on their faces was priceless.
